The seat bearers were made from 5/4 Douglas fir I found at a lumberyard in Denver.  I hate going to Denver, but nobody in Colorado Springs seems to carry any clear softwood lumber except for the ubiquitous pine species.  This stuff was reasonably priced and all clear, vertical grain.  Nice stuff!

While the oil finish was drying on the seat bearers, I masked off the gunwales and primed the interior.  Those are the side panels for a Bolger Diablo runabout on the cutting floor at left.

I finally found a deep sky blue color I liked enough to try out as a boat interior paint.  It's called "Dynamic Blue" from Sherwin Williams, and it's an eye catcher.
