After the hull was sanded smooth, only a minor bit of fairing was needed to fill and smooth a few low spots.  The fairing compound is epoxy mixed with phenolic microballoons.  The shop assistant, Truman, is inspecting the area for epoxy drips.

With the fairing done and sanded, the skeg was shaped and attached to the hull bottom.

After fairing and sanding the hull, two coats of primer were applied.  The strip along the sheer where the gunwales will be attached was left unprimed.
